Update from September 12th letter to VA Officials.
To recap. Allison A. Hickey Under Secretary Veterans Benefits Administration replied to me on the 12th that she would notify Ted Ebert and his Team of my situation regarding my disability claim. Today I received a response from Ted Ebert stating "I’ll be more than happy to investigate these issues for you"
I appreciate the quick response so let's wait and see what happens next.
Also, I had contacted Assemblymemeber Chad Myers (California) and his response was "It appears that the issue you are having lie with the VA. If that is the case, please contact Congressman Raul Ruiz' office for assistance. Since the VA is administered as a federal agency, your federal representative must assist you in this matter. If your issue lies with a State agency, please contact Pat Scully at 760-346-6342 or at Patricia.Scully@asm.ca.gov and she will be happy to look into this issue on your behalf."
Clearly he passed the buck !
On a side note, I was just told by a very proactive Vet, that many Vets that have contacted Robert McDonald, United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs regarding their situations and this has outraged him and their claims have been denied or lowballed. I don't know this to be a fact just hearsay but it gives me pause since I included him in my email.
See this is the problem when working with the VA. You just never know who to trust !
